"PLAY+REPEAT" by LUCAS ZANOTTO
Play + Repeat by Lucas Zanotto explores repetition as both a visual language and a generative system, unfolding as an immersive exhibition experience.
Across the show, a reduced vocabulary of simple geometric forms is continuously rearranged, producing figures that move between abstraction and human presence. Shapes lean, balance, and recombine, suggesting gestures and interactions that shift with each variation. Repetition is not used here as redundancy, but as a method of transformation, where small changes generate new meanings.
At the center of the exhibition is an immersive digital animation environment in constant motion, where sequences of forms unfold, shift, and recombine in a continuous loop. Alongside it, ceramic sculptures and screen prints derived from the animations extend the same logic into physical form, translating a time-based visual process into material presence.
Lucas Zanotto is an Italian artist based in Helsinki whose practice moves fluidly between art, design, and animation. Working from simple visual systems, he builds worlds that evolve from minimal forms into playful, expressive behaviors across both digital and physical media.
